March 9: “BASICS OF TREE BIOLOGY AND CARE” WORKSHOP IN DOUGLASVILLE

Certified Arborist Rob Swanson will instruct a GUFC “Basics of Tree Biology and Care” seminar on Tuesday, March 9, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Douglasville MPj04372960000[1]Conference Center. This information-packed three hours will include topics such as tree anatomy, tree physiology, energy systems in trees, tree selection, tree planting (bare root, container, and balled and burlapped), the application of tree anatomy and physiology as it relates to the White Oak, canopy pruning, root pruning, soil fertilization and amendments, mature tree care (building around mature trees, special needs of the elderly tree, and a Q & A session. ISA CEUs:  3 Arborist, 3 Municipal, 1 BCMA Science, 1 BCMA Practice, 1 BCMA Management.  Society of American Foresters:  2.5, Cat 1.   Certificates of Attendance available for other fields.  The Douglasville Conference Center is located in Historic Downtown Douglasville, near the Welcome Center, at 6701 Church St., Douglasville, GA 30134. The registration fee is $30 for members and $40 for non-members.
