Certified Arborist Rob Swanson will instruct a GUFC “Basics of Tree Biology and Care” seminar on Tuesday, March 9, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Douglasville Conference Center. This information-packed three hours will include topics such as tree anatomy, tree physiology, energy systems in trees, tree selection, tree planting (bare root, container, and balled and burlapped), the application of tree anatomy and physiology as it relates to the White Oak, canopy pruning, root pruning, soil fertilization and amendments, mature tree care (building around mature trees, special needs of the elderly tree, and a Q & A session.
