Live Oak Trees of Bonaventure Cemetery
|
Among the more than 1000 trees of Bonaventure Cemetery, 250 live oaks were transplanted on Bonaventure Plantation by Colonel John Mullryne prior to the American Revolution. These trees create an avenue of live oaks whose branches form arches over the roadways of this historic cemetery.
These trees range in size from 24" dbh to 60" dbh. The trees are maintained and protected by the Department of Cemeteries, City of Savannah.
