Twin Magnolia


The tree known as the "Twin Magnolia" was originally transplanted from the Mercer University campus in Macon, Georgia and located in Heard County, Georgia on the former site of the Melson family home. This large Magnolia grandiflora with two trunks has been recognized because of its unique circumstances and due to its significance to the history of Mercer University, Heard County, and the State of Georgia. This tree has been register as historic on the Georgia Landmark and Historic Tree Register.
